The Beach & A Buncha Hams

August 20, 2010

One (or maybe even #1) of my favorite beaches, Oxnard Shores – gorgeous, long, flat, empty, and free from stubble:

Tourists

August 9, 2010

A few weeks ago, J’s sister visited & we made major tourists out of ourselves.  We used Dodgers box seats (unlimited free food!) courtesy of J’s uncle, explored The WB courtesy of AF, spent a day at Universal Studios courtesy of my season pass, saw four celebrities in one day courtesy of “that’s what happens when you live in LA”.

At least once a summer, we like to take food, drink & chairs to see a film projected on the side of a mausoleum at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. This summer we’ve seen The Thing & Easy Rider.  For Easy Rider,  I took my new(ish) lens:

Scaredy-Dog

July 3, 2010

One of the dogs (Darwin) at my dad’s house in TN was totally terrified of J & I on this trip!  It was so weird….maybe because my hair is dark now so he didn’t recognize me?  I thought giving him a bone would befriend him to me, but he nervously grabbed it & immediately sprinted away.  So odd! His sister Daisy was friendly as ever.  Great Pyrenees are such cuddly, lovable dogs.

Baby-Holding

June 17, 2010

Hubby doesn’t like me to share too much about him on the internets, but baby-holding is too cute not to post.

I like how Baby’s looking sideways at the camera in one photo & up at me in the other.  :)

New Lens/Fat Cat

June 14, 2010

I feel really bad posting this picture because it’s so unflattering, but since he’s not human (or at least not interested in looking at my blog), I have to go ahead.  This cracks me up — he is not THAT fat.  And he typically has the posture of a well-bred, confident feline.

Photo taken with my new lens, my first “L.”  Not the greatest photo it will take – this was at ISO 3200 inside my house, but still….I am extremely happy with it!  I’ll post some pics with good lighting & a more flattering pose another day.

He looks kind of South Parkish….

My stepmom is the owner of R & M Yarns, the go-to place for all things yarn & knitting. R & M has a showroom, offices & a fiber art studio for teaching classes, but the biggest business is from the warehouse where dozens of shipments go out every day to people all around the US & world.

Some yarns from R & M showroom:
