One Mile to Disney

September 4, 2010

Desire + Commitment + Kismet = Tasty Fruit!  Tomorrow, SD – who started with one mile, will be running an official 13.1!  I will try to take many pics (before & after probably – I doubt I’ll want to get my new iPhone4 sweaty by using it during the race) and will do a post about it soon.  Running is cool!

This image has absolutely nothing to do with any of that:

New Backgrounds

July 28, 2010

I’m excited to offer several new headshot backgrounds for those who like the look of a studio background! I like the natural environment look a lot, but I love color so I tend to like these a lot, too. My set-up arrived by mail yesterday and while it was so, so fun to do a test shoot with my juice container, I tweeted for a model willing to come asap.  KL was just leaving an audition, so she stopped by for a quick shoot, no special clothes or make-up for the occasion.  I love how they turned out!

New backgrounds are:  purple, green, aqua, white, and pink (not shown).  (In case you aren’t familiar with your colors….)

My sample albums arrived & they are gorgeous!   IMO, this is a product that can’t be skipped, no matter the type of session (well, for a headshot session it would be kind of vain but besides that…..).  They’re a beautiful, high-end display piece & a perfect way to get most or all of the images from your session in a tangible form.  Right now they are priced to sell at $400 for 20 sides & $650 for 40 sides but those prices won’t stick around for long!

Many ways to customize the album:
6by6, 8by8, 10by10 sizes
20/40/60 page spreads
3 page choices:  Art watercolor, Art linen, Satin lustre-coated
35 cover options – suede, leather, fabric, custom photo from your session & custom metallic photo:

6by6, 20 sides with teal fabric cover & satin lustre pages
8by8, 20 sides with custom metallic photo cover & art watercolor pages
8by8, 40 sides with dark red alligator leather cover & art linen pages

Last Minute SD

June 22, 2010

SD hired Kelsey Link for a make-up consultation at her home, to be followed by a test shoot with a friend who got a new camera.  When the friend had to cancel, we used the opportunity to get a few commercial shots with her new ‘do.  Nothing worse than a girl all made up with nowhere to go!  It was a really late shoot so we were battling the fading sun, but it was fun. Photos, dinner & drinks with friends is a great night!  I also tried wearing a dress for the first time during a shoot and I’m happy to announce it was pretty ok!  I was able to move around like I always do with minimal flashing.

Kelsey Link is available to do make-up consultations for you, too!  Contact me to set one up (I’m not her agent, but I’m also not at liberty to give out personal info on the web. :p )

I’m waiting for Adobe to approve my serial number so I’m without Photoshop until they do…any minute now, hopefully.  For now, here are some my faves one by one.

b/c Rancho Cucamonga doesn’t quit!  Here’s a tiny sneak from today’s sessions with two more adorable girls from the IE.

Make-up by Kelsey Link.
